Grand Rapids Open
GGRFSC's annual skating competition, The Grand Rapids Open, is held each June at the Patterson Ice Center. Skaters from Michigan and surrounding states come to compete. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
The Grand Rapids Open offers Freestyle, Compulsories, Pairs and Showcase events for Basic Beginner through Senior levels and Adults and features the International Judging System for Juvenile/Open Juvenile through Senior levels, short and long programs.
The 2011 Grand Rapids Open will be held June 23 - 25, 2011.

Patterson Ice Center
The Grand Rapids Open competition arena is the Patterson Ice Center located at 2550 Patterson Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546, just 3.2 miles directly north of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.
Patterson features 2 ice surfaces — 1 NHL-sized (200' x 85') and 1 Olympic-sized (200' x 100') with a 5000 square-foot lobby overlooking both sheets.
Both surfaces have a sand base and tend to be a bit soft. The temperature in the rink is typically quite chilly, so be sure to bundle up!
